Chupayees City & Crantlee's Franz Grayson got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Romford booed when Chupayees City & Crantlee was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pete Mabbutt didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Chupayees City & Crantlee defense, Brad Dunn kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jeff Rowell. The Chupayees City & Crantlee fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jeff Rowell should have stopped the shot. Brad Dunn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Jeff Rowell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Romford's Dominik Husband in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chupayees City & Crantlee's goalie prevented a goal. Derek Pilgrim hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Dominik Husband received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Jeff Rowell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dominik Husband to make the kick off. In the 59th minute, Chupayees City & Crantlee's Pete Mabbutt dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Derek Pilgrim's late challenge caught a Romford's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ray Archer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Derek Pilgrim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ray Archer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pete Mabbutt, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Dominik Husband sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Romford's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Franz Grayson fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 96th minute Brad Dunn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeff Rowell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
