Simon Harkness blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rupert Downton having to make a save. If Carl Moxey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Badersfield Athletic's Simon Harkness in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Paxton Hotspur's goalie prevented a goal. Simon Harkness fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rupert Downton having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vince Fenwick during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Paxton Hotspur's Vince Fenwick got a free kick in the 13th minute. 16 minutes in the game, Simon Harkness dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Simon Harkness kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. If Carl Moxey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Paxton Hotspur getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Perry Earnshaw hit a great ball. 32 minutes into the match, Badersfield Athletic's Calvin Towler broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 33 minutes into the match, Badersfield Athletic's Simon Harkness sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rupert Downton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luke Jowsey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Whalley, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The audience was convinced that Simon Harkness's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rupert Downton was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Carl Moxey struck a weak shot in the 49th minute. Rupert Downton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Badersfield Athletic.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Simon Harkness stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Simon Harkness recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Badersfield Athletic's Dave Grayson got a free kick in the 55th minute. Johnathon Sheldon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luke Jowsey having to make a save. Luke Jowsey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Whalley in the 60th minute of play. Paddy Ricketts kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Simon Harkness fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rupert Downton having to interfere. In the 68th minute Daniel Whalley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luke Jowsey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Simon Harkness had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 75 minutes, Johnathon Sheldon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paxton Hotspur's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johnathon Sheldon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luke Jowsey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Whalley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute, Seth Walker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simon Harkness in the 83rd minute of play forced Paxton Hotspur's goalkeeper Rupert Downton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, Simon Harkness got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 87 minutes into the game, Perry Earnshaw was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paxton Hotspur's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Badersfield Athletic the free kick. In the 94th minute, Badersfield Athletic's Simon Harkness ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rupert Downton. Rupert Downton yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Johnathon Sheldon struck a weak shot in the 99th minute. Luke Jowsey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paxton Hotspur.
