Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Alex Bartlett got the match started through his kick off. Ashley Singleton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Al Newlyn, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Ashley Singleton didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Al Newlyn went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 14 minutes into the game, Welling's Al Newlyn nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ashley Singleton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. After a rather tough play, Welling's Greg Haugue got a free kick in the 19th minute. Kenny Speight struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Rich Hurst didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kilburn, Westbourne Park. Loyd Lofthouse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Ashley Singleton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Al Newlyn in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ashley Singleton saved Kilburn, Westbourne Park from getting behind. In the 29th minute, Al Newlyn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 33 minutes into the game, Loyd Lofthouse cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Ashley Singleton was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Loyd Lofthouse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Ashley Singleton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ashley Singleton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loyd Lofthouse in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Alex Bartlett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Kilburn, Westbourne Park's zone, Al Newlyn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ashley Singleton came out of the goal and Al Newlyn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Al Newlyn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Ashley Singleton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loyd Lofthouse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute, Kenny Speight hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Welling's supporters crossed their fingers, but Loyd Lofthouse was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 79 minutes into the game, Alex Bartlett was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kilburn, Westbourne Park's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Welling the free kick. Alex Bartlett kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 86 minutes, Ashley Singleton successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 88th minute of the match Welling got a corner. Kilburn, Westbourne Park's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luke Shephard ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kilburn, Westbourne Park's goalkeeper Ashley Singleton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 92 minutes into the match, Loyd Lofthouse dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ashley Singleton, 0-6. The Kilburn, Westbourne Park fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Welling were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
