Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Loyd Lofthouse made the kick off and thus started the match. Russ Webster didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Al Newlyn went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 6th match minute, Welling was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Loyd Lofthouse to maneuver through the defense. When Luke Shephard came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Welling fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luke Shephard couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Knights of the Spring getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Trev Illingworth hit a great ball. In the 16th minute, Loyd Lofthouse ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Russ Webster was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. David Newell kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Anthony Reid got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Anthony Reid kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 29th match minute, Welling was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Greg Haugue to maneuver through the defense. Dom Halliday struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Rich Hurst didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Knights of the Spring. Anthony Reid received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Rich Hurst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute of the match Welling got a corner. Knights of the Spring's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luke Shephard ran over to the corner to take the kick. Luke Shephard made a great header on Welling's corner, it was just that Knights of the Spring's Russ Webster managed to reach the ball for a save. Russ Webster was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Karl Pullen showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-0 in the 45 minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dom Halliday to strike the kick off in the second half. Karl Pullen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Russ Webster having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alan Willets during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 52 played minutes Knights of the Spring got a freekick which was hit by Alan Willets. Russ Webster took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Al Newlyn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Welling getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Dan Medley hit a great ball. Micheal Goodman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rich Hurst having to interfere. Loyd Lofthouse recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Russ Webster made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Loyd Lofthouse in the 70th minute of play. Rich Hurst didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Micheal Goodman went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Micheal Goodman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edward Biernat's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 79thth minute, Rich Hurst skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Rich Hurst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dom Halliday in the 81st minute of the match. In the 84th match minute, Knights of the Spring was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anthony Reid to maneuver through the defense. Russ Webster made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Loyd Lofthouse in the 86th minute of play. Russ Webster came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Welling's Loyd Lofthouse. But to his dismay, Loyd Lofthouse quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Dan Medley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Knights of the Spring's Russ Webster played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loyd Lofthouse in the 96th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Knights of the Spring players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Welling.
