Rupert Downton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Knights of the Spring booed when Paxton Hotspur was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Seth Walker didn't get a good kick on the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Knights of the Spring's goal looked a bit too open when Alan Bryant came free, but Russ Webster reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 19 minutes into the game, Paxton Hotspur's Daniel Whalley nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Russ Webster made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Trev Illingworth blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rupert Downton having to make a save. After having played for 26 minutes, Edward Biernat managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Knights of the Spring's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edward Biernat was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 30th minute, Daniel Whalley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Edward Biernat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edward Biernat's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 37thth minute, Rupert Downton skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Edward Biernat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edward Biernat might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rupert Downton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Biernat ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 47th minute, Alan Willets got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Micheal Goodman made the kick off in the second half. After 58th play minutes Micheal Goodman shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Rupert Downton and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Biernat in the 61st minute of play forced Paxton Hotspur's goalkeeper Rupert Downton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Micheal Goodman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Knights of the Spring's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Daniel Whalley 66 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-3. Edward Biernat's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rupert Downton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Micheal Goodman struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Rupert Downton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Knights of the Spring. Anthony Reid sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Alan Willets managed to get in a good position for a shot. Knights of the Spring's supporters rose to their feet, but Alan Willets was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rupert Downton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Knights of the Spring's Micheal Goodman in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Paxton Hotspur's goalie prevented a goal. Knights of the Spring's Edward Biernat got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 89 minutes into the match, Micheal Goodman notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Paxton Hotspur's Rupert Downton. Rupert Downton was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Paxton Hotspur were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Knights of the Spring's much stronger midfield.
