Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Simon Harkness got the match started through his kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Badersfield Athletic's goal looked a bit too open when Larry Forrester came free, but Luke Jowsey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Man City's Ed Midson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carl Moxey in the 7th minute of play. Luke Jowsey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stan Marriott in the 8th minute of play. Luke Jowsey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stan Marriott's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. After 10 minutes of play, Man City's Stewart Read made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luke Jowsey was left in no man's land by his defense there! Stewart Read fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luke Jowsey having to interfere. Luke Jowsey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stan Marriott, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carl Moxey got free with Ed Midson in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Stan Marriott came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Man City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stan Marriott couldn't finish the play. In the 26th minute Gaz Bowen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luke Jowsey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27thth minute of the game Stan Marriott who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Badersfield Athletic's Luke Jowsey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Stewart Read sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Man City booed when Badersfield Athletic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dan Taggart didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Stan Marriott put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Luke Jowsey. Larry Forrester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stewart Read received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Luke Jowsey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Larry Forrester hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stan Marriott made a kick off. Stewart Read fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luke Jowsey having to interfere. Luke Jowsey made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Gaz Bowen sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Stan Marriott kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luke Jowsey. That made the score 0-4 in the 61 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Larry Forrester's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luke Jowsey was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. After 65 played minutes Gaz Bowen rounded Badersfield Athletic's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-5. Luke Jowsey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stewart Read, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. After 72 minutes, Stevie Adcock mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Badersfield Athletic and the Man City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gaz Bowen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luke Jowsey read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. In the 75th minute, Larry Forrester fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Darryl Margarson hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Justin Bateson charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Justin Bateson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 78 minutes into the game, one of Man City:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 82 minutes into the match, Badersfield Athletic's goalkeeper Luke Jowsey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stan Marriott. 84 minutes into the match, Man City's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Harkness came free, but Ed Midson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Man City's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
