Jonny Coulson charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jonny Coulson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Welling booed when Walworth Runners was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonny Coulson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Loyd Lofthouse was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Al Newlyn left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Welling fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Al Newlyn managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 84th minute, Al Newlyn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Greg Haugue during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Peter Hampton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loyd Lofthouse in the 95th minute of the match. Welling's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
