The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Loyd Lofthouse was the one to do the kick off. Al Newlyn could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Luke Jowsey made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Badersfield Athletic's zone, Al Newlyn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luke Jowsey came out of the goal and Al Newlyn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dominic Rundle hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Welling's Al Newlyn got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 60th minute, Loyd Lofthouse got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Loyd Lofthouse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Darryl Margarson kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Loyd Lofthouse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Loyd Lofthouse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 79 played minutes, Welling's Luke Shephard shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luke Jowsey came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Welling reached it. In the 81st minute, Darryl Margarson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 82 minutes into the match, Welling's Luke Shephard broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 88th minute, Carl Moxey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Loyd Lofthouse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Badersfield Athletic's Luke Jowsey got control of the ball when Al Newlyn tried to sneak it across the goal line. Al Newlyn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Despite being the better team, Welling failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
