Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Jay Summers made the kick off and thus started the match. Chesney Westlake kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Wells's Lucas Stockton got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Lucas Stockton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Simon Whitehead took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucas Stockton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute of the match Wells got a corner. Skegness's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Phil Turner ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Wells's corner Phil Turner fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Simon Whitehead quite easily take care of the ball. The corner ended in Chesney Westlake almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Wells's Stephen Barton did a great save. Jason Layfield hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. 26 minutes into the game, Lucas Stockton recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Simon Whitehead. Lucas Stockton showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Skegness's Simon Whitehead proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Skegness from getting a goal against them. 36 minutes into the match, Skegness's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Stockton came free, but Simon Whitehead reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mitch Case in the 37thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Simon Whitehead, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Mitch Case in the 44thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Tris Little received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Stephen Barton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Simon Whitehead made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Stockton in the 48th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lucas Stockton was the one to do the kick off. Simon Whitehead showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Stockton in the 52nd minute of the match. 60 minutes into the game, Richard Young was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Skegness's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wells the free kick. Richard Young hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. After having played for 61 minutes, Lucas Stockton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wells's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucas Stockton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Simon Whitehead took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mitch Case, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jason Layfield might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Simon Whitehead. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jason Layfield ran back to his position shaking his head. When Wells's Mitch Case in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Skegness's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jay Summers in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stephen Barton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Mitch Case's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Simon Whitehead was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. Skegness's Tris Little got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Lucas Stockton came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Wells fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Stockton couldn't finish the play. There was no doubt that Wells were the better team. Wells's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
