The mood of the audience was pleasant when Darren Hayward made the kick off which started today's match. hull afc's Simon Crossley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jay Summers in the 3rd minute of play. A collision led to hull afc getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Henry Gibson hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Jay Summers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skegness's supporters rose to their feet, but Jay Summers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simon Crossley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Simon Crossley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rio Ratcliffe in the 6th minute of the match. Chesney Westlake took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Simon Crossley. hull afc's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Simon Crossley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rio Ratcliffe, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jay Summers in the 11th minute of play forced hull afc's goalkeeper Simon Crossley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes into the match, hull afc's goal looked a bit too open when Jay Summers came free, but Simon Crossley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jay Summers came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Skegness fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jay Summers couldn't finish the play. Tris Little fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Crossley having to interfere. A collision led to hull afc getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Henry Gibson hit a great ball. If Jay Summers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute Tris Little shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simon Crossley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tris Little sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Jay Summers made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Tris Little managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skegness's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tris Little was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jay Summers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Simon Crossley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Skegness's Simon Crossley threw himself towards the right post 59 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jay Summers, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Chris Robertson hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Jay Summers kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Simon Crossley. That made the score 0-2 in the 63 minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Rio Ratcliffe had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Simon Crossley. hull afc's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rio Ratcliffe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Tris Little could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Simon Crossley made a huge save. In the 74th minute, Chris Robertson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Tris Little managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skegness's supporters rose to their feet, but Tris Little was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tris Little got free with Simon Crossley in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. hull afc's Simon Crossley proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save hull afc from getting a goal against them. In the 87th minute Jay Summers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simon Crossley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 89 minutes into the match, hull afc's goalkeeper Simon Crossley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rio Ratcliffe. When the match was over Skegness could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than hull afc throughout the match.
