Spectators: 7464 (Terracing: 5705, Seating: 1749, VIP seats: 10) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jason Hayes started the match with the kick off. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Neston's goalkeeper Todd Sewell, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Neston getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Fred Hehir hit a great ball. After 12 played minutes Ferencvaros got a freekick which was hit by Sacha Moxon. In the 21st minute, Fred Hehir hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ferencvaros's Tyrone Basham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jason Hayes in the 29th minute of play. Albert Haugue kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Albert Haugue in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Todd Sewell saved Neston from getting behind. 40 minutes into the game, Phil Notley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Neston's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ferencvaros the free kick. Ferencvaros's Albert Haugue got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tris Macken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Todd Sewell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

After some careless play in the Neston defense, Tris Macken kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Todd Sewell. The Neston fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Todd Sewell should have stopped the shot. A hard shot by Josh Hazell from long distance, 56 minutes into the match, got Tyrone Basham's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The crowd rose to their feet as Jason Hayes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tyrone Basham. That made the score 1-1 in the 58 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ferencvaros's Caleb Bloom got a free kick in the 60th minute. Albert Haugue sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Brynn Bonds charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brynn Bonds the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 66 played minutes Neston got a freekick which was hit by Brynn Bonds. If Tris Macken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tris Macken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Todd Sewell having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, Neston's goal looked a bit too open when Albert Haugue came free, but Todd Sewell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Todd Sewell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albert Haugue, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tris Macken struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Todd Sewell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ferencvaros. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tris Macken in the 98th minute of play forced Neston's goalkeeper Todd Sewell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Neston walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
