Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Grant Lagdon kicked off to start the match. A collision led to Parkgate United getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Rick Stewart hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the match, Newton Aycliffe United's goal looked a bit too open when Nat Sharpe came free, but George Davies reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leon Hutchins kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, Henry Sissons had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of George Davies. Newton Aycliffe United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Henry Sissons was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Den Blythe got free with George Davies in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Reuben Battersby came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Newton Aycliffe United's Grant Lagdon. But to his dismay, Grant Lagdon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Grant Lagdon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reuben Battersby having to interfere. Leon Hutchins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Reuben Battersby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Grant Lagdon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Parkgate United's Den Blythe got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 46th minute, Grant Lagdon made a precise shot to the right of Reuben Battersby. Parkgate United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Leon Hutchins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Lee Kingston managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newton Aycliffe United's supporters rose to their feet, but Lee Kingston was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reuben Battersby breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Leon Hutchins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70thth minute of the game Grant Lagdon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Parkgate United's Reuben Battersby was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Newton Aycliffe United booed when Parkgate United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nat Sharpe didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st match minute, Newton Aycliffe United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rupert Howarth to maneuver through the defense. George Davies showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henry Sissons in the 82nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Grant Lagdon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newton Aycliffe United's supporters rose to their feet, but Grant Lagdon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reuben Battersby breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Parkgate United's Reuben Battersby proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Parkgate United from getting a goal against them. Henry Sissons's late challenge caught a Newton Aycliffe United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henry Sissons helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Newton Aycliffe United booed when Parkgate United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Sissons didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Newton Aycliffe United's Grant Lagdon in the 98th minute got a chance for a shot 98th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Parkgate United's goalie prevented a goal. Newton Aycliffe United played a much better game than Parkgate United and deserved their victory. The Parkgate United players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
