Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kirk Rhodes in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albert Bond prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mansfield Town's Kirk Rhodes got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Albert Bond breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 60 minutes, Barney Burns mouthed his way into the referee's book. The Mansfield Town supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mansfield Town would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
