Seth Saville didn't get a good kick on the ball. Seb Harrison was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 17th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Dean Harkness sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. Hurst Green's Pierre Moore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Garry Bartram in the 31st minute of play. Hurst Green's Philip Greaves pulled a muscle in his leg after 33 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Adrian Fielden fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Buckfast Abbey City's protests and gave Adrian Fielden a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Buckfast Abbey City getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Adrian Fielden hit a great ball. In the 36th minute Pat Barnfield shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfie Boulton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hurst Green's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Buckfast Abbey City the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. One of Hurst Green:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Buckfast Abbey City:s goal. Pierre Moore went to the wrong direction when Seb Harrison was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. If Dean Harkness had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hurst Green's goalkeeper Pierre Moore, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
