Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 7 minutes into the game, Tyler Pointon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Curttannia FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Downham Market United the free kick. 6 minutes into the game, one of Curttannia FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Mark Theakston made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abraham Silvester in the 12th minute of play. Curttannia FC's Joshua Green played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brian Hurst in the 16th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abraham Silvester in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mark Theakston saved Downham Market United from getting behind. Perry Heath fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark Theakston having to interfere. Mark Theakston showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Silvester in the 27th minute of the match. Perry Heath received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Mark Theakston tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Perry Heath had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mark Theakston made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abraham Silvester in the 33rd minute of play. A collision led to Curttannia FC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Reuben Searle hit a great ball. If Brian Hurst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abraham Silvester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute, Alf Birch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abraham Silvester stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Camron Hilton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joshua Green having to interfere. Joshua Green took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brian Hurst, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tony Gilchrist's late challenge caught a Curttannia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tony Gilchrist helped the player get up and apologised. Brian Hurst hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Downham Market United's Brian Hurst got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the 80th minute Camron Hilton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joshua Green saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Curttannia FC's zone, Brian Hurst stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joshua Green came out of the goal and Brian Hurst tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 91 minutes into the match, Curttannia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Brian Hurst came free, but Joshua Green reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joshua Green showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brian Hurst in the 95th minute of the match. Downham Market United's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
