Gwyn Wagstaff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Kerr having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, FC Nevėžis's goal looked a bit too open when Gwyn Wagstaff came free, but Alan Kerr reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Trey Shakespeare put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Alan Kerr. After a rather tough play, FC Nevėžis's Marek Lewington got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Eriks Engineering FC's Jude Knowles got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 25th minute, Eriks Engineering FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Blair Bartlett fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 32 minutes into the match, FC Nevėžis's goal looked a bit too open when Gwyn Wagstaff came free, but Alan Kerr reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Trey Shakespeare notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of FC Nevėžis's Alan Kerr. Alan Kerr was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 36 minutes, Blair Bartlett mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Nevėžis and the Eriks Engineering FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of FC Nevėžis booed when Eriks Engineering FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reg Margarson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st minute, Johnathan Whittington hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 43 minutes, Jake Chambers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Nevėžis and the Eriks Engineering FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 43rd match minute, FC Nevėžis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jake Chambers to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Grant Ward during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Piers Rathmell was the one to do the kick off. Paul Wilson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Blair Bartlett went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Blair Bartlett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Paul Wilson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Blair Bartlett recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Blair Bartlett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Nevėžis's Alan Kerr proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save FC Nevėžis from getting a goal against them. FC Nevėžis's Blair Bartlett got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paul Wilson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Piers Rathmell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jude Knowles during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 84 played minutes Eriks Engineering FC got a freekick which was hit by Jude Knowles. Piers Rathmell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paul Wilson having to make a save. Blair Bartlett struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Paul Wilson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Nevėžis. After a defensive mix-up in Eriks Engineering FC's zone, Blair Bartlett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paul Wilson came out of the goal and Blair Bartlett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Eriks Engineering FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
