Reading FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kris Falkingham was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The supporters of Tooting United booed when Reading FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joseph Clare didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Marty Noble fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Reading FC's protests and gave Marty Noble a yellow card for diving instead. Marty Noble kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Marty Noble hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ash Lawless showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Greg Bridgeman, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kris Falkingham in the 22nd minute of play forced Reading FC's goalkeeper Ash Lawless to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frazer Shaw couldn't finish the play. Reading FC's Ash Lawless played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kris Falkingham in the 44th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Greg Bridgeman was the one to do the kick off. Ash Lawless was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Grant Pointon. In the 59th match minute, Reading FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marty Noble to maneuver through the defense. Barry Barber hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Tooting United's Grant Pointon got a free kick in the 65th minute. Ash Lawless made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nathan Butterworth in the 69th minute. Greg Bridgeman struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Ash Lawless didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tooting United. Kris Falkingham didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 0-3 via right post in the game's 74th minute. Tooting United's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! Frazer Shaw received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Henry Morcom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 81 minutes into the match, Reading FC's goal looked a bit too open when Greg Bridgeman came free, but Ash Lawless reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kris Falkingham's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ash Lawless firmly grabbed it by the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Barry Barber kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ash Lawless. That made the score 0-4 in the 87 minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Kris Falkingham recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ash Lawless. Kris Falkingham showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Reading FC's Ash Lawless proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Reading FC from getting a goal against them. If Rhys Parrott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Tooting United had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
