Matt Denham could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Ash Lawless made a huge save. A collision led to Reading FC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Frazer Shaw hit a great ball. 7 minutes into the game, Jeff Dibb recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ash Lawless. Jeff Dibb showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 10th minute, Mike Garforth made a precise shot to the right of Ash Lawless. Reading FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Ash Lawless was out of position in the 16 minute of play, and Jeff Dibb capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jeff Dibb really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. In the 23rd minute, Inter Academy's Jeff Dibb ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ash Lawless. Ash Lawless yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. 26 minutes into the match, Mike Garforth notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Reading FC's Ash Lawless. Ash Lawless was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 30 minutes into the match, Reading FC's goalkeeper Ash Lawless had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mike Garforth. Mike Garforth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Inter Academy's Silvester Furlong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frazer Shaw in the 35th minute of play. Ash Lawless showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Fitter in the 41st minute of the match. After 42 played minutes Reading FC got a freekick which was hit by Marty Noble. When Mike Garforth came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Inter Academy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mike Garforth couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 6-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mike Garforth to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mike Garforth in the 54th minute of play forced Reading FC's goalkeeper Ash Lawless to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Reading FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Marty Noble hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frazer Shaw got free with Silvester Furlong in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mike Garforth took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ash Lawless. Ash Lawless dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. A collision led to Reading FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Marty Noble hit a great ball. Ash Lawless didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mike Garforth went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. Silvester Furlong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frazer Shaw in the 79th minute of play. Ash Lawless took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mike Garforth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the Inter Academy players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
