Benjamin Dickens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Reading FC. In the 9th minute Ted Jump shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ash Lawless saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sidney Timmins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Reading FC's Kirk Garner-Currie got a free kick in the 14th minute. After a rather tough play, Reading FC's Joseph Clare got a free kick in the 15th minute. Ash Lawless took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nath Summers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Christie Fc booed when Reading FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joseph Clare didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute of the match Billy Grayson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ash Lawless skillfully saved the ball. Frazer Shaw fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Dickens having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Ted Jump put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ash Lawless. Ash Lawless took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ted Jump, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ash Lawless made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeff Walmsley in the 30th minute of play. Joseph Clare kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Reading FC's zone, Nath Summers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ash Lawless came out of the goal and Nath Summers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ash Lawless came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Christie Fc's Sidney Timmins. But to his dismay, Sidney Timmins quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Frazer Shaw recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeff Walmsley in the 43rd minute of play forced Reading FC's goalkeeper Ash Lawless to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 45 minutes of play, Christie Fc's Ted Jump made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ash Lawless was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Reading FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Christie Fc were winning 0-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frazer Shaw was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Christie Fc got a freekick which was hit by Billy Grayson. In the 53rd minute, Ted Jump hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Billy Grayson got his second yellow card in the match during the 54th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A hard shot 59 in the game by Sidney Timmins from a close distance when the talented Ash Lawless managed to make a qualified save. Reading FC's players were relieved. Ash Lawless didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sidney Timmins went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. If Marty Noble had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute, Jeff Walmsley ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ash Lawless was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. After some careless play in the Reading FC defense, Sidney Timmins kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ash Lawless. The Reading FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ash Lawless should have stopped the shot. In the 82nd minute Kirk Garner-Currie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Dickens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ted Jump fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Christie Fc's protests and gave Ted Jump a yellow card for diving instead. Reading FC's Ash Lawless played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeff Walmsley in the 91st minute of play. Sidney Timmins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Darren Goodwin hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match.
