Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Piers Deaconsfield got the match started through his kick off. When Greg Bridgeman came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Tooting United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Greg Bridgeman couldn't finish the play. Greg Bridgeman might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jermaine Vaughan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Greg Bridgeman ran back to his position shaking his head. Larry Dibb struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Henry Morcom didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for New Marske. After a defensive mix-up in Tooting United's zone, Larry Dibb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henry Morcom came out of the goal and Larry Dibb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 28th minute, Lennie Everard had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rhys Parrott during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Tooting United getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Rhys Parrott hit a great ball. In the 31st match minute, Tooting United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barry Barber to maneuver through the defense. Kris Falkinghams short, quick shot in the 34thth minute got Jermaine Vaughan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Kris Falkingham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jermaine Vaughan having to interfere. Jermaine Vaughan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Greg Bridgeman in the 89th minute of play.
