Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Dion Beardsley took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 10th minute, Spike Foggarty made a precise shot to the right of Brad Seaward. Streatham's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. If Dion Beardsley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wood Green's Spike Foggarty got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mark Burns during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 28 played minutes Streatham got a freekick which was hit by Mark Burns. With a little luck, Streatham's Brad Seaward got control of the ball when Spike Foggarty tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 37th minute, Simeon Blunt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Streatham's Rich Shipton got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Spike Foggarty got free with Brad Seaward in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Rich Shipton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wood Green's Stu Jeffrey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Louis Ross in the 49th minute of play.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rich Shipton to make the kick off. In the 58th minute, Mike Truscott hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brad Seaward took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Spike Foggarty, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Streatham's Mark Burns got his second yellow card of the match in the 71st minute. The referee ordered Mark Burns off the ground. After a rather tough play, Streatham's Mark Burns got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Brad Seaward took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dion Beardsley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 77 minutes into the match, Streatham's Louis Ross sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stu Jeffrey narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Louis Ross got free with Stu Jeffrey in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Streatham's zone, Dion Beardsley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brad Seaward came out of the goal and Dion Beardsley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpected shot in the 84th minute by Louis Ross got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Louis Ross sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 90 played minutes Wood Green got a freekick which was hit by Dion Beardsley. Brad Seaward took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Spike Foggarty, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rich Shipton charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rich Shipton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rich Shipton hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Brad Seaward made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Spike Foggarty in the 97th minute of play. After taking down the ball on Wood Green's corner Rowan Turk fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Brad Seaward quite easily take care of the ball. Wood Green were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Streatham for a fine match.
