After a defensive mix-up in Bermondsey's zone, Rory Maylett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Conan Gayle came out of the goal and Rory Maylett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wayne Denham struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Conan Gayle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ryde Warriors. Bermondsey's defense didn't have a chance, in the 9th minute, when Rory Maylett scored to the left of an out of position Conan Gayle, making the score, 1-0. Conan Gayle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rory Maylett in the 13th minute of play. Gerry Woods's late challenge caught a Ryde Warriors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gerry Woods helped the player get up and apologised. In the 14th minute, one of Bermondsey:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Bermondsey. Lucas Hold took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harvey McGrath, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Rory Maylett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Rory Maylett came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Ryde Warriors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rory Maylett couldn't finish the play. Conan Gayle came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Ryde Warriors's Wayne Denham. But to his dismay, Wayne Denham quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Conan Gayle was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Wayne Denham showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 33 minute of play. Conan Gayle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rory Maylett in the 38th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rory Maylett in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Conan Gayle prevented the ball from getting in the gole. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rory Maylett was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Lewis Horsey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 56th minute, Rory Maylett left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ryde Warriors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Simon Deacon hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. After 64 minutes of play, Ryde Warriors's Rory Maylett made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Conan Gayle was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rory Maylett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Conan Gayle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the game, Rory Maylett cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Conan Gayle was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Harvey McGrath fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bermondsey's protests and gave Harvey McGrath a yellow card for diving instead. Conan Gayle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rory Maylett's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. After some careless play in the Bermondsey defense, Rory Maylett kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Conan Gayle. The Bermondsey fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Conan Gayle should have stopped the shot. Rory Maylett scored 9-0 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Conan Gayle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 90th minute Rory Maylett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Conan Gayle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, Bermondsey's goal looked a bit too open when Wayne Denham came free, but Conan Gayle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bermondsey's Conan Gayle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rory Maylett in the 95th minute of play. Bermondsey's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
