Spectators: 7230 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 100) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jude Hindmarsh kicked off to start the match. Chris Crooks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jude Hindmarsh, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Chris Crooks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teddy Phippard in the 12th minute of play. With his leg Michael Zamora managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Leominster's Jeff Pearch fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jeff Pearch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Michael Zamora tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 26 minutes, Grant Howarth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leominster's supporters crossed their fingers, but Grant Howarth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Michael Zamora took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grant Howarth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeff Pearch who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Michael Zamora when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Michael Zamora made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kelvin Preston in the 38th minute. Wayne Speed kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Wayne Speed recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jeff Pearch struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Michael Zamora didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leominster.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Grant Howarth to strike the kick off in the second half. Grant Howarth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Michael Zamora tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Grant Howarth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jude Hindmarsh struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Chris Crooks didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Richmond City. Jeff Pearch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leominster's Grant Howarth got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wayne Speed fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chris Crooks having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kurt Kearney during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Leominster booed when Richmond City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Kearney didn't get a good kick on the ball. Grant Howarth might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michael Zamora. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Grant Howarth ran back to his position shaking his head. Wayne Speed's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Chris Crooks read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Jude Hindmarsh's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chris Crooks was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Through an outstanding action, after 94 minutes, Chris Crooks successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.
