Seating: 1724, VIP seats: 0) Staines's Martin Ward started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Aldershot Titans FC's Hayden Avery in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Staines's goalie prevented a goal. Buster Reeves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hayden Avery fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicky Tyson having to interfere. Buster Reeves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Nicky Tyson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 19 minutes Staines's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edward Newland who took care of the corner kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nathan Tomlin during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 22nd minute, Nathan Tomlin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Ward in the 24th minute of play forced Aldershot Titans FC's goalkeeper David Childs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Staines booed when Aldershot Titans FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefan Oates didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Stan Kaye came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Staines fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stan Kaye couldn't finish the play. If Stan Kaye had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martin Ward received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. David Childs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Nicky Tyson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hayden Avery went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. David Childs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Ward in the 59th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Jasper Carragher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hayden Avery sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Staines's Nicky Tyson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hayden Avery in the 76th minute of play. Martin Ward fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Childs having to interfere. David Childs stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stan Kaye's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Aldershot Titans FC's goalkeeper David Childs, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Staines booed when Aldershot Titans FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Billy Drake didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute, Tyrone Johnstone got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
