Ollie Attwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joey Coogan, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Sonny Alsford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Don Key in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rio Shaw saved CumDrops from getting behind. 24 minutes into the match, Warrington warrior's Don Key sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rio Shaw narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julian Pallister got in the 27th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Rio Shaw handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Don Key struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Rio Shaw didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Warrington warrior. If Lee Blackwater had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 45 played minutes Warrington warrior got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Hamer. Lee Blackwater fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ollie Attwood having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Don Key to make the kick off. The supporters of Warrington warrior booed when CumDrops was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaz Hargrave didn't get a good kick on the ball. CumDrops's supporters rose to their feet, but Lee Blackwater was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ollie Attwood breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 70th minute, Lee Blackwater got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Ollie Attwood managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when CumDrops's Lee Blackwater fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Joey Coogan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CumDrops's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Warrington warrior the free kick. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
