The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Frazer Towler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rex Forrest having to interfere. If Aaron McNiven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wesley Croyden kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. If Jay Sutherland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute, Jay Sutherland ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rex Forrest was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. MeowMeowCats's Frank Cousens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aaron McNiven in the 32nd minute of play. Jay Sutherland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frazer Towler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Rex Forrest tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jay Sutherland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th match minute, MeowMeowCats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steve Beesley to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aaron McNiven to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Wesley Croyden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jay Sutherland received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rex Forrest came out and tried to block the shot, but Jay Sutherland slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 55th minute. Jay Sutherland struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Rex Forrest didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MeowMeowCats. 64 minutes into the game, Fred Meechan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dunmow's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MeowMeowCats the free kick. After 64 played minutes Dunmow got a freekick which was hit by Fred Meechan. Rex Forrest made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frazer Towler in the 65th minute. Jay Sutherland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Rex Forrest tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 69 minutes, Jay Sutherland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MeowMeowCats's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jay Sutherland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to MeowMeowCats getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Conal Stiles hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, MeowMeowCats's Rex Forrest threw himself towards the right post 74 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jay Sutherland, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Dunmow's Alan Neville got a free kick in the 74th minute. MeowMeowCats's Frank Cousens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denzil Allanson in the 78th minute of play. 78 minutes into the game, Denzil Allanson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Frank Cousens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rex Forrest made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Frazer Towler sent off a good shot on target. Jay Sutherland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When MeowMeowCats's Jay Sutherland in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Dunmow's Rex Forrest proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Dunmow from getting a goal against them. MeowMeowCats were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
