If Patrick Forbes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 11th minute, Sacha Kerr hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeff Wilmott hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Manchester Devils's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 18th minute of the game, when Brynn Kessler after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of Blackburn Olympic's goal. Brynn Kessler was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. Lee Birchall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sacha Kerr, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Matthew Mulford charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matthew Mulford the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Matthew Mulford kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Blackburn Olympic's goal looked a bit too open when Sacha Kerr came free, but Lee Birchall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bart Lappin got free with Lee Birchall in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Bart Lappin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester Devils's supporters rose to their feet, but Bart Lappin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lee Birchall breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brynn Kessler, 36 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The supporters of Manchester Devils booed when Blackburn Olympic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chaz Soussan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 40 minutes Blackburn Olympic's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Brynn Kessler who took care of the corner kick. A well done corner resulted in Paul Tanner drilling the ball in to score 2-0 behind Blackburn Olympic's goalkeeper. In the 43rd minute, Dion Cross hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sacha Kerr made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Spike Impey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lee Birchall took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brynn Kessler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sacha Kerr received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Lee Birchall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dominik Hunter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Patrick Forbes in the 59th minute. After 63 played minutes Manchester Devils got a freekick which was hit by Richie Ripley. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Dominik Hunter made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Patrick Forbes sent off a good shot on target. Dominik Hunter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Foster in the 75th minute of the match. Sacha Kerr received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Lee Birchall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Blackburn Olympic defense, Sacha Kerr kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lee Birchall. The Blackburn Olympic fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lee Birchall should have stopped the shot. Abraham Foster's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dominik Hunter read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Blackburn Olympic players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Manchester Devils.
