In the 10th minute, Martyn Wilberforce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rod Auty made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlton Wootton in the 13th minute of play. Aaron Frain hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Lionbow FC's Rod Auty played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bill Newbury in the 18th minute of play. Martyn Spurgeon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lawrence Rayner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bill Newbury scored 0-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rod Auty, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Camborne booed when Lionbow FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Seb Chadwick didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lawrence Rayner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Martyn Spurgeon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aaron Frain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. During the 33rd minute of the match Carlton Wootton completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Carlton Wootton a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In a very dangerous position, a player in Camborne fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 33rd minute. Penalty! Martyn Spurgeon had in the 35thth minute some difficulties stopping Seb Chadwick's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. If Seb Chadwick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the match, Camborne's goal looked a bit too open when Aaron Frain came free, but Martyn Spurgeon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lloyd Coe in the 41st minute of play forced Lionbow FC's goalkeeper Rod Auty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aaron Frain struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Martyn Spurgeon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lionbow FC.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lawrence Rayner made a kick off. Henry Coogan charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 59th minute, Bill Newbury hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lloyd Coe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Rod Auty made a huge save. After 79 played minutes Lionbow FC got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Frain. Lionbow FC's Rod Auty proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Lionbow FC from getting a goal against them.
