Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 0) Camborne's Bill Newbury started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Bill Newbury fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Camborne's protests and gave Bill Newbury a yellow card for diving instead. Bill Newbury kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, Woolwich City's goal looked a bit too open when Bill Newbury came free, but Malcolm Bowler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlton Wootton charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlton Wootton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Camborne getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Carlton Wootton hit a great ball. Lloyd Coe took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Malcolm Bowler. Malcolm Bowler dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Lloyd Coe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Malcolm Bowler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Camborne's Lloyd Coe in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Woolwich City's goalie prevented a goal. In the 37thth minute of the game Bill Newbury who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Woolwich City's Malcolm Bowler was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alf Ricketts charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alf Ricketts the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Woolwich City's Alf Ricketts got a free kick in the 37th minute. Malcolm Bowler didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lloyd Coe went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 43rd minute Bill Newbury shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Malcolm Bowler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 45 minutes into the game, Lloyd Coe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Malcolm Bowler was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tommy Bland stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Woolwich City's Malcolm Bowler got control of the ball when Lloyd Coe tried to sneak it across the goal line. Malcolm Bowler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bill Newbury, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martyn Spurgeon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alf Ricketts in the 62nd minute of play. Malcolm Bowler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bill Newbury, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Bill Newbury sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Camborne's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ash Booth in the 83rd minute. The corner led to Camborne's Carlton Wootton getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Lloyd Coe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Malcolm Bowler having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Woolwich City's Tommy Bland sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Martyn Spurgeon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 90 minutes into the game, Jason East was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Camborne's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Woolwich City the free kick. A collision led to Camborne getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Jason East hit a great ball. Tommy Bland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Malcolm Bowler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bill Newbury, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. When the match was over Camborne could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Woolwich City throughout the match.
