Spectators: 7562 (Terracing: 5673, Seating: 1739, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Casey Shephard started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Shane Hornsby managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rowner's supporters rose to their feet, but Shane Hornsby was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Derek Dobbs breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Len Dunne took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Derek Dobbs. Derek Dobbs dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Len Dunne struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Derek Dobbs didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rowner. Kasey Edwards sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 24 minutes into the match, Rowner's Shane Hornsby sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Derek Dobbs narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Shane Hornsby struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Derek Dobbs didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rowner. Derek Dobbs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Len Dunne in the 30th minute of play. Wesley Wellings made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Casey Shephard in the 32nd minute of play. Coppull's Derek Dobbs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shane Hornsby in the 35th minute of play.

When Ron Talbot fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rowner's protests and gave Ron Talbot a yellow card for diving instead. Ron Talbot hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Shane Hornsby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derek Dobbs having to interfere. In the 56th match minute, Coppull was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duncan Barron to maneuver through the defense. After 60 played minutes Rowner got a freekick which was hit by Shane Hornsby. Len Dunne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Coppull's goalkeeper Derek Dobbs, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 70 minutes, Len Dunne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rowner's supporters crossed their fingers, but Len Dunne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Laurence Featherstone charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Laurence Featherstone the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Laurence Featherstone hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Len Dunne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute, Shane Hornsby got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Derek Dobbs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Len Dunne, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After a rather tough play, Rowner's Brandon Godsall got a free kick in the 78th minute. Shane Hornsby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 86 minutes into the game, Sean Lawson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Coppull's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rowner the free kick. In the 86th match minute, Coppull was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sean Lawson to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Rowner's Eddy Kellaway tried to score from far away in the 87th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Len Dunne in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Derek Dobbs saved Coppull from getting behind. Rowner played a much better game than Coppull and deserved their victory. The Coppull players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
