Spectators: 7522 (Terracing: 5642, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 150) Red Star Albion FC's Thom Falkingham started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kristian Castledine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gwyn Powell having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Evolution's zone, Thom Falkingham stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jim Morning came out of the goal and Thom Falkingham tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joel West during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 12th match minute, Evolution was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel West to maneuver through the defense. Jim Morning made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tod Rawlings in the 15th minute of play. Leigh Bullard charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leigh Bullard the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 17th minute, one of Evolution:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Evolution. Jim Morning stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thom Falkingham's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Jim Morning showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thom Falkingham in the 24th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Evolution's Joel West got a free kick in the 25th minute. After 26th play minutes Thom Falkingham shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Jim Morning and just under the crossbar into goal. When Red Star Albion FC's Denis Lonsdale in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Evolution's goalie prevented a goal. If Thom Falkingham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Tod Rawlings came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Red Star Albion FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tod Rawlings couldn't finish the play. If Thom Falkingham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute of the match Paddy Mann sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jim Morning skillfully saved the ball. Evolution's Jim Morning played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thom Falkingham in the 42nd minute of play. Tod Rawlings charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tod Rawlings the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Red Star Albion FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Tod Rawlings hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in Evolution's zone, Tod Rawlings stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jim Morning came out of the goal and Tod Rawlings tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thom Falkingham in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jim Morning saved Evolution from getting behind. In the 68th match minute, Evolution was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Simpson to maneuver through the defense. Kristian Castledine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 72 minutes into the game, Brad Crayon threw the ball into play from the sideline. Red Star Albion FC's Jeremy Barber quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Thom Falkingham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Morning having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thom Falkingham in the 76th minute of play forced Evolution's goalkeeper Jim Morning to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Red Star Albion FC's Tod Rawlings got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thom Falkingham in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jim Morning saved Evolution from getting behind. In the 86th minute, Jeremy Barber reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jim Morning. The goal made the score 1-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thom Falkingham in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jim Morning saved Evolution from getting behind. Jim Morning showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Lonsdale in the 95th minute of the match. The Evolution fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Red Star Albion FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
