Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Len Dunne got the match started through his kick off. When Kristian Castledine came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Evolution fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kristian Castledine couldn't finish the play. Len Dunne received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jim Morning came out and tried to block the shot, but Len Dunne slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 9th minute. Gregory Wilmott kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Rowner's attack was well implemented in the 15th minute, but when Len Dunne was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Len Dunne blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jim Morning having to make a save. If Shane Hornsby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rowner's Shane Hornsby got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Rowner booed when Evolution was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deon Winterburn didn't get a good kick on the ball. 29 minutes into the game, Oscar Simpson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Evolution's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rowner the free kick. Oscar Simpson kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. With a little luck, Evolution's Jim Morning got control of the ball when Shane Hornsby tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jim Morning was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ron Talbot showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 35 minute of play. In the 40th minute, Kristian Castledine ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wesley Wellings was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Jim Morning made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Len Dunne in the 48th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kristian Castledine stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. John-Paul Hardcastle struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Jim Morning didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rowner. Jim Morning showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brandon Godsall in the 53rd minute of the match. Shane Hornsby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Jim Morning tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jim Morning showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shane Hornsby in the 60th minute of the match. If Kristian Castledine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. With his leg Wesley Wellings managed to avoid a goal in the 67thth minute, when Evolution's Gregory Wilmott fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jim Morning took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Len Dunne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a left leg Jim Morning saved Evolution from getting behind. Rowner's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
