Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Julian Hoskins kicked off to start the match. Julian Hoskins's late challenge caught a Red Star Albion FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Julian Hoskins helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Red Star Albion FC booed when Stourbridge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julian Hoskins didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ivan Gascoigne fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stourbridge's protests and gave Ivan Gascoigne a yellow card for diving instead. After 5 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Stourbridge! Syd Love hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. If Julian Hoskins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thom Falkingham struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Mickey Davis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Red Star Albion FC. Denis Lonsdale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Mickey Davis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Thom Falkingham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 22 minutes, Tod Rawlings managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Red Star Albion FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tod Rawlings was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 28th minute, Denis Lonsdale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mickey Davis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thom Falkingham, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Julian Hoskins struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Gwyn Powell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stourbridge. If Thom Falkingham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Red Star Albion FC's Thom Falkingham suffered a concussion in the 36th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Tris Smith fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stourbridge's protests and gave Tris Smith a yellow card for diving instead. Mickey Davis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denis Lonsdale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stourbridge's Mickey Davis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Seth Foreman in the 45th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Seth Foreman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Seth Foreman might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mickey Davis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Seth Foreman ran back to his position shaking his head. Mickey Davis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Lonsdale in the 56th minute of play. Julian Hoskins kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Mickey Davis made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Seth Foreman sent off a good shot on target. 60 minutes into the match, Stourbridge's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremy Barber came free, but Mickey Davis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mickey Davis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Seth Foreman's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Seth Foreman in the 70th minute of play forced Stourbridge's goalkeeper Mickey Davis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mickey Davis was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jeremy Barber showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 73 minute of play. Seth Foreman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mickey Davis having to interfere. After having played for 79 minutes, Denis Lonsdale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. With a little luck, Stourbridge's Mickey Davis got control of the ball when Jeremy Barber tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mickey Davis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denis Lonsdale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Red Star Albion FC's Denis Lonsdale in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Stourbridge's goalie prevented a goal. If Seth Foreman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Red Star Albion FC played a much better game than Stourbridge and deserved their victory. The Stourbridge players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
