Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dennis Poate started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thom Falkingham in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jeff Warden saved Halton Holegate from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tod Rawlings got free with Jeff Warden in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Al Halford hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Thom Falkingham who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 7thth minute tested the skills of Jeff Warden when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 8 minutes into the match, Halton Holegate's Dennis Poate sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gwyn Powell narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Dennis Poate managed to get in a good position for a shot. Halton Holegate's supporters rose to their feet, but Dennis Poate was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gwyn Powell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 14 minutes into the game, Frazer Soussan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Halton Holegate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Red Star Albion FC the free kick. After 14 played minutes Halton Holegate got a freekick which was hit by Frazer Soussan. When Thom Falkingham came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Red Star Albion FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thom Falkingham couldn't finish the play. Tod Rawlings sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Jeremy Barber came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Red Star Albion FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeremy Barber couldn't finish the play. Don Pope hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Thom Falkingham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Red Star Albion FC booed when Halton Holegate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Drew Silk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tod Rawlings fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeff Warden having to interfere. After 36 minutes, Syd Love mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Red Star Albion FC and the Halton Holegate players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Red Star Albion FC's Syd Love got a free kick in the 37th minute. Gwyn Powell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Louie Ottaway in the 39th minute of play. Thom Falkingham might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jeff Warden. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thom Falkingham ran back to his position shaking his head. Gwyn Powell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Louie Ottaway went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Thom Falkingham made the kick off in the second half. Gwyn Powell made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Louie Ottaway sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Halton Holegate's zone, Thom Falkingham stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeff Warden came out of the goal and Thom Falkingham tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Tod Rawlings had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thom Falkingham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 67th minute, Thom Falkingham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thom Falkingham might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jeff Warden. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thom Falkingham ran back to his position shaking his head. Drew Silk hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Jeff Warden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tod Rawlings, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. If Thom Falkingham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 87th minute, Jeremy Barber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Red Star Albion FC's Gwyn Powell got control of the ball when Louie Ottaway tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thom Falkingham scored 1-1 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jeff Warden, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thom Falkingham blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jeff Warden having to make a save. The supporters of Red Star Albion FC booed when Halton Holegate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Drew Silk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Red Star Albion FC's Thom Falkingham got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
