Spectators: 7506 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dennis Poate started the match with the kick off. When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Dennis Poate sped through Coppull's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Derek Dobbs. Derek Dobbs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dennis Poate in the 13th minute of play. Derek Dobbs didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dennis Poate went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Derek Dobbs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Louie Ottaway in the 19th minute of the match. 23 minutes into the game, Drew Silk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Halton Holegate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coppull the free kick. In the 23rd minute, Drew Silk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A long shot from Vernon MacDonald in the 24th minute of play was well struck, but Jeff Warden made a really good save at the right post. The supporters of Coppull booed when Halton Holegate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Drew Silk didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute, Pete Blackhurst hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute of the match Vernon MacDonald sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jeff Warden skillfully saved the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Halton Holegate's Dennis Poate sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Derek Dobbs narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 41st match minute, Coppull was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caleb Gould to maneuver through the defense. When Halton Holegate's Louie Ottaway in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Coppull's goalie prevented a goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Casey Shephard stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Sean Lawson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Coppull and the Halton Holegate players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Coppull getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Sean Lawson hit a great ball. Derek Dobbs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dennis Poate, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Louie Ottaway had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Derek Dobbs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennis Poate in the 65th minute of the match. The supporters of Coppull booed when Halton Holegate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Drew Silk didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Dennis Poate had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 1-4 became the score in the 75th minute when Casey Shephard elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Kasey Edwards recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Coppull's goalkeeper Derek Dobbs, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Louie Ottaway recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Coppull's Derek Dobbs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Al Halford in the 87th minute of play. Halton Holegate's Louie Ottaway was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 89th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Louie Ottaway received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Derek Dobbs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Al Halford got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Halton Holegate played a much better game than Coppull and deserved their victory. The Coppull players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
