When the match had been going on for 9 minutes, jimjam's Gregory Llewellyn got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ralf Harkness. 14 minutes into the match, jimjam's goal looked a bit too open when Rod Pollard came free, but Fred Chapman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stevie Potter kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Rod Pollard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fred Chapman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Al Fuller, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After having played for 28 minutes, Kristian Colman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. jimjam's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kristian Colman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the jimjam defense, Al Fuller kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fred Chapman. The jimjam fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fred Chapman should have stopped the shot. A throw-in in the 34th minute of the game was made by Felix Lindley with Rod Pollard as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Kristian Colman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralf Harkness having to interfere. Kurt Santos hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Kristian Colman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Ralf Harkness made a huge save. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sid Woolford was the one to do the kick off. Fred Chapman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mark Patterson in the 53rd minute of play. Fred Chapman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Al Fuller got free with Fred Chapman in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edward Ridsdale hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, OJ Rovers's Al Fuller got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 95th match minute, jimjam was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeff Nailor to maneuver through the defense. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. OJ Rovers walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
