Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tim Meade kicked off to start the match. Old Bexley City's Phillip Redwood-Turner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vincent Cornish in the 7th minute of play. Vincent Cornish blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Phillip Redwood-Turner having to make a save. The supporters of Shap United booed when Old Bexley City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steven West didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vincent Cornish in the 14th minute of play forced Old Bexley City's goalkeeper Phillip Redwood-Turner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute Tim Meade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Lucas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Old Bexley City's Tim Meade ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eric Lucas. Eric Lucas yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andy Kenworthy got free with Eric Lucas in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tim Meade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Lucas having to interfere. In the 25th match minute, Old Bexley City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Terry Halford to maneuver through the defense. If Vincent Cornish had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Terry Halford fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Old Bexley City's protests and gave Terry Halford a yellow card for diving instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tim Meade in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eric Lucas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Phillip Redwood-Turner stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vincent Cornish's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. In the 41stth minute of the game Vincent Cornish who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Old Bexley City's Phillip Redwood-Turner was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Felix Beckwith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Old Bexley City's goalkeeper Phillip Redwood-Turner, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 45th minute Felix Beckwith shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phillip Redwood-Turner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vincent Cornish was the one to do the kick off. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Old Bexley City's goalkeeper Phillip Redwood-Turner, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fraser Denham charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Old Bexley City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tim Meade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Andy Kenworthy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andy Kenworthy in the 77th minute of play forced Shap United's goalkeeper Eric Lucas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Shap United getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Brendon Cobb hit a great ball. Felix Beckwith received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Phillip Redwood-Turner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, Tim Meade had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eric Lucas. Shap United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tim Meade was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Tim Meade sped through Shap United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eric Lucas. Old Bexley City were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Shap United for a fine match.
