Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Chris Pilgrim took the kick off in the first half of the match. A collision led to South Lawn FC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Barney Richardson hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Duncan Wroe in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Seth Piercy saved South Lawn FC from getting behind. Eddie Church made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chris Pilgrim in the 10th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Leroy Hilton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute, David Donnelly got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Pilgrim in the 19th minute of play forced DSCLUB's goalkeeper Eddie Church to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the game, South Lawn FC's Chris Pilgrim nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eddie Church made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Eddie Church took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Donnelly, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The wind increased when Duncan Wroe made the kick off in the second half. DSCLUB's Jerry West suffered a concussion after 54 minutes and had to leave the field. Kristian Robins's late challenge caught a DSCLUB's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kristian Robins helped the player get up and apologised. After 59 played minutes South Lawn FC got a freekick which was hit by John Paul Ablethorpe. Chris Pilgrim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Duncan Wroe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Seth Piercy was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benjamin Gascoigne during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. South Lawn FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DSCLUB the free kick. After 82 played minutes South Lawn FC got a freekick which was hit by Barney Richardson. After a rather tough play, DSCLUB's Benjamin Gascoigne got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 87th match minute, South Lawn FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chris Pilgrim to maneuver through the defense. Duncan Wroe struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Seth Piercy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for DSCLUB. The supporters of South Lawn FC booed when DSCLUB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duncan Wroe didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind DSCLUB's goalkeeper Eddie Church, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 99th minute of the match Jordan Sharpe shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Seth Piercy showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
