Chris Pilgrim started the match with the kick off. Rowan Winfield charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rowan Winfield the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Chris Pilgrim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When South Lawn FC's Rex Bullard in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After a rather tough play, King Of The North's Nicky Nethercott got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 36th match minute, South Lawn FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barney Richardson to maneuver through the defense. King Of The North's Stevie Holt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Donnelly in the 40th minute of play. After 40 minutes of play King Of The North's Rowan Winfield was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 41st match minute, King Of The North was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rowan Winfield to maneuver through the defense. 44 minutes into the match, Chris Pilgrim had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stevie Holt. King Of The North's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chris Pilgrim was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1.

With a little luck, King Of The North's Stevie Holt got control of the ball when David Donnelly tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ivan Brook blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Seth Piercy having to make a save. In the 58th minute, Ty King hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivan Brook fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Seth Piercy having to interfere. In the 62nd minute Chris Pilgrim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stevie Holt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 62 played minutes King Of The North got a freekick which was hit by Russell Theakston. South Lawn FC's Chris Pilgrim was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 64th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After 69th play minutes David Donnelly shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Stevie Holt and just under the crossbar into goal. After 71 played minutes South Lawn FC got a freekick which was hit by Kristian Robins. 73 minutes into the match, Russell Theakston notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of South Lawn FC's Seth Piercy. Seth Piercy was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Stevie Holt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chris Pilgrim, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Chris Pilgrim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. David Donnelly in the 83rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Stevie Holt, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. David Donnelly could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Stevie Holt made a huge save. After 95 minutes, Kristian Robins mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the South Lawn FC and the King Of The North players grew even worse after the yellow card.
