Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) South Lawn FC's Chris Pilgrim started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 4 minutes, Robin Goodwin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Meldreth United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robin Goodwin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ivan Newton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chris Pilgrim's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. 10 minutes into the match, South Lawn FC's goal looked a bit too open when Robin Goodwin came free, but Seth Piercy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ivan Newton was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Chris Pilgrim showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. In the 20th minute Thomas Little shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Seth Piercy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. South Lawn FC's Rex Bullard got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chris Pilgrim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Seth Piercy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robin Goodwin, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Thanks to some nice moves David Donnelly could shoot a difficult shot in the 36th minute, which Ivan Newton however easily saved by the left post. Alf Langley charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alf Langley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 37th match minute, The Meldreth United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alf Langley to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, The Meldreth United's Alf Langley got a free kick in the 40th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thomas Little was the one to do the kick off. Ivan Newton came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by South Lawn FC's Chris Pilgrim. But to his dismay, Chris Pilgrim quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Robin Goodwin scored 3-1 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Seth Piercy, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Robin Goodwin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kristian Robins's late challenge caught a The Meldreth United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kristian Robins helped the player get up and apologised. In the 74th minute, Kristian Robins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute Chris Pilgrim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Newton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to South Lawn FC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Chris Pilgrim hit a great ball. Vince Gamble hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Donnelly in the 92nd minute of play forced The Meldreth United's goalkeeper Ivan Newton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chris Pilgrim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Ivan Newton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
