With a couple of smart ball manuevers Duncan Wroe in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jon Gardner saved Shaftesbury from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jerry West during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to DSCLUB getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Jerry West hit a great ball. DSCLUB's Eddie Church proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save DSCLUB from getting a goal against them. Jon Gardner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duncan Wroe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Lance Byrne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lance Byrne might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eddie Church. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lance Byrne ran back to his position shaking his head. Eddie Church made an important save on a dangerous shot by Keiran Stobbs in the 26th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Rodney Jones notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Shaftesbury's Jon Gardner. Jon Gardner was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Jerry West had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. When Jerry West came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the DSCLUB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jerry West couldn't finish the play. Duncan Wroe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Gardner having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Jerry West managed to get in a good position for a shot. DSCLUB's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerry West was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jon Gardner breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

If Lance Byrne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Shaftesbury defense, Duncan Wroe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jon Gardner. The Shaftesbury fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jon Gardner should have stopped the shot. 62 minutes into the match, DSCLUB's goal looked a bit too open when Lance Byrne came free, but Eddie Church reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lance Byrne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddie Church having to interfere. 69 minutes into the game, one of DSCLUB:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. DSCLUB:s Eddie Church showed great skill when he stopped Curtis Soussan:s penalty. After 77 minutes, Keiran Stobbs mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shaftesbury and the DSCLUB players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 77th minute, Keiran Stobbs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute, Duncan Wroe made a precise shot to the right of Jon Gardner. Shaftesbury's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. Jon Gardner came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by DSCLUB's Duncan Wroe. But to his dismay, Duncan Wroe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. Eddie Church made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lance Byrne in the 88th minute of play. Jake Phelps fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddie Church having to interfere. When Jordan Sharpe fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DSCLUB's protests and gave Jordan Sharpe a yellow card for diving instead. Jordan Sharpe kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. The DSCLUB supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing DSCLUB would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
