To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thomas Little fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robin Gildea having to interfere. Brigden's Robin Gildea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas Little in the 12th minute of play. When Dominik Forrest came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Brigden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dominik Forrest couldn't finish the play. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind The Meldreth United's goalkeeper Ivan Newton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, Rod Titmus had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ivan Newton. The Meldreth United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rod Titmus was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 28th minute, Robin Goodwin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Robin Gildea was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robin Goodwin in the 31st minute of play forced Brigden's goalkeeper Robin Gildea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 32 played minutes Brigden got a freekick which was hit by Kris Salmon. Rod Titmus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Newton having to interfere. Rod Titmus's late challenge caught a The Meldreth United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rod Titmus helped the player get up and apologised. In the 40thth minute of the game Thomas Little who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brigden's Robin Gildea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rod Titmus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Newton having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pete McDonald stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thomas Little's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Robin Gildea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Robin Gildea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomas Little, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thomas Little received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Robin Gildea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Robin Goodwin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Meldreth United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robin Goodwin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Brigden's goalkeeper Robin Gildea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 85 minutes into the match, Brigden's goalkeeper Robin Gildea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robin Goodwin. After a rather tough play, Brigden's Damian Holt got a free kick in the 86th minute.
