Adrian Morris recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adrian Morris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adrian Morris's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Robin Gildea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. In the 24th minute of the match, Basil North tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Robin Gildea saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Basil North came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Wigmore United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basil North couldn't finish the play. Basil North struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Robin Gildea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wigmore United. William Bagshaw took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rod Titmus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robin Gildea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adrian Morris in the 36th minute. Rod Titmus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Bagshaw having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Wigmore United's zone, Pete McDonald stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Bagshaw came out of the goal and Pete McDonald tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pete McDonald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Basil North to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Wigmore United's zone, Rod Titmus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Bagshaw came out of the goal and Rod Titmus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kris Salmon hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Morris in the 62nd minute of play forced Brigden's goalkeeper Robin Gildea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robin Gildea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian Morris in the 64th minute of the match. William Bagshaw took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pete McDonald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rod Titmus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
