In the 2nd match minute, 419 OBI FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cliff Nowland to maneuver through the defense. In the 6th minute, Shaun Watson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Dom Brearley's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Barney Singleton was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Barney Singleton came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Widnes's George Scargill. But to his dismay, George Scargill quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Dom Brearley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute George Scargill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barney Singleton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 419 OBI FC's Barney Singleton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Scargill in the 30th minute of play. George Scargill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barney Singleton having to interfere. Barney Singleton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dom Brearley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barney Singleton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dom Brearley in the 39th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling George Scargill in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Barney Singleton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Darryl Beck made the kick off in the second half. Shaun Watson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Barney Singleton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 54 minutes into the match, 419 OBI FC's goal looked a bit too open when George Scargill came free, but Barney Singleton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barney Singleton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from George Scargill, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 58th minute, Dom Brearley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Barney Singleton made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Dom Brearley sent off a good shot on target. 63 minutes into the match, 419 OBI FC's goal looked a bit too open when George Scargill came free, but Barney Singleton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dom Brearley's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Barney Singleton firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in 419 OBI FC's zone, Dom Brearley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Barney Singleton came out of the goal and Dom Brearley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tom Hird's late challenge caught a Widnes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tom Hird helped the player get up and apologised. 70 minutes into the game, one of 419 OBI FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When Darryl Beck fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 419 OBI FC's protests and gave Darryl Beck a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Widnes booed when 419 OBI FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darryl Beck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barney Singleton made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Dom Brearley sent off a good shot on target. Dom Brearley scored 0-3 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Barney Singleton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Scargill in the 82nd minute of play forced 419 OBI FC's goalkeeper Barney Singleton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th minute, George Scargill got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 85 played minutes 419 OBI FC got a freekick which was hit by Tom Hird. George Scargill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Barney Singleton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 93 minutes of play, Widnes's Dom Brearley made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Barney Singleton was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 98th minute George Scargill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barney Singleton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
