The ball went over the crossbar instead. Buster Coyle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Al Walters came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Hoo United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Al Walters couldn't finish the play. Pinebrook AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 69th minute, when Al Walters scored to the left of an out of position Roger Blacksmith, making the score, 1-2. 76 minutes into the match, Pinebrook AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Al Walters came free, but Roger Blacksmith reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Hoo United getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Jay Joy hit a great ball. Pinebrook AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerome Hoult was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
