Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gerry Greenfield took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dom Brearley in the 3rd minute of play forced Chingford City's goalkeeper Dom Downes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Widnes's goal looked a bit too open when Nicky Edwards came free, but Gordon Naylor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Chingford City's Nicky Edwards sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gordon Naylor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dom Downes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dom Brearley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gordon Naylor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerry Greenfield in the 24th minute of the match. In the 28th minute Dom Brearley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dom Downes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dom Downes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dom Brearley in the 32nd minute of play. If Dom Brearley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rick Thornton hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Gerry Greenfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rick Thornton got free with Gordon Naylor in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nicky Edwards received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Gordon Naylor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Widnes's Gordon Naylor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerry Greenfield in the 44th minute of play. With a little luck, Widnes's Gordon Naylor got control of the ball when Nicky Edwards tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 47th minute, Chingford City's Nicky Edwards ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gordon Naylor. Gordon Naylor yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for George Scargill to strike the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes, Keanu Waite mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Widnes and the Chingford City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Widnes fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 54th minute. Penalty! Gordon Naylor went to the wrong direction when Rory Darnbrooke was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Tommy Mulligan kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Ian Gallagher charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ian Gallagher the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers George Scargill in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dom Downes saved Chingford City from getting behind. Gerry Greenfield fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gordon Naylor having to interfere. When Chingford City's Gerry Greenfield, in the 68th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Chingford City. When Billie Corbridge came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Chingford City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Billie Corbridge couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Gerry Greenfield managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chingford City's supporters rose to their feet, but Gerry Greenfield was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gordon Naylor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rick Thornton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gerry Greenfield recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bruce Kyle kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Leon Pearson hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Reuben Hehir thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Gordon Naylor, a very annoying self made goal in the 81st minute which led to 4-0. 89 minutes into the game, Gerry Greenfield was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chingford City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Widnes the free kick. A collision led to Chingford City getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Gerry Greenfield hit a great ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Widnes fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 91st minute. Penalty! 93 minutes into the game, Shaun Watson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Widnes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chingford City the free kick. After a rather tough play, Widnes's Shaun Watson got a free kick in the 93rd minute. 96 minutes into the match, Gerry Greenfield notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Widnes's Gordon Naylor. Gordon Naylor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 101st minute, Gerry Greenfield left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chingford City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. There was no doubt that Chingford City were the better team. Chingford City's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
