Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lee Pascoe in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Len Housham prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 8th minute, Superbad's Lee Pascoe dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 12th match minute, Padiham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonny Merrill to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Padiham getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Benji Housham hit a great ball. Lee Pascoe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Len Housham made a huge save. Glenn Pennant kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Marty Woodward shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ralph Hargrave saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lee Pascoe got free with Len Housham in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Marty Woodward had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 39 minutes into the match, Alan Ellison had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ralph Hargrave. Superbad's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alan Ellison was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 44 minutes into the game, Benji Housham was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Padiham's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Superbad the free kick. Benji Housham hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Padiham's Len Housham proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Padiham from getting a goal against them. In the 46th minute, Benji Housham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alan Ellison to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Alan Ellison shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ralph Hargrave saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Lee Pascoe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ralph Hargrave made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alan Ellison in the 56th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lee Pascoe in the 58th minute of play forced Padiham's goalkeeper Len Housham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ralph Hargrave showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alan Ellison in the 59th minute of the match. Padiham's Len Housham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chase Brotherton in the 64th minute of play. In the 73rdth minute of the game Chase Brotherton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Padiham's Len Housham was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Lee Pascoe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Superbad's supporters rose to their feet, but Lee Pascoe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Len Housham breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Padiham's Len Housham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lee Pascoe in the 79th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marty Woodward got free with Ralph Hargrave in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alan Ellison received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ralph Hargrave came out and tried to block the shot, but Alan Ellison slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 88th minute. In the 92nd minute, Chase Brotherton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 97 minutes into the match, Padiham's goal looked a bit too open when Lee Pascoe came free, but Len Housham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Padiham eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
