Joshua Potterton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chase Brotherton in the 17th minute of play. Joshua Potterton was a little too slow when Chase Brotherton got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 1-1. Chase Brotherton struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Joshua Potterton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Superbad. After having played for 24 minutes, Zane Holyfield managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Heswall City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zane Holyfield was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Heswall City's Joshua Potterton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Heswall City from getting a goal against them. When Lee Pascoe came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Superbad fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lee Pascoe couldn't finish the play. In the 31st minute, Sonny Fairs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zane Holyfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lee Pascoe might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joshua Potterton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lee Pascoe ran back to his position shaking his head. Lee Pascoe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Joshua Potterton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute Zane Holyfield shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ralph Hargrave saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute Chase Brotherton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joshua Potterton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Lee Pascoe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Superbad's supporters rose to their feet, but Lee Pascoe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joshua Potterton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chase Brotherton to make the kick off. Heswall City's Lawrence Ferdinand got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chase Brotherton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Joshua Potterton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 61 minutes into the game, Lee Pascoe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Joshua Potterton was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 68 minutes, Lawrence Ferdinand managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 83rdth minute of the game Chase Brotherton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Heswall City's Joshua Potterton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lee Pascoe in the 90th minute of play forced Heswall City's goalkeeper Joshua Potterton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joshua Potterton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chase Brotherton in the 91st minute of the match. Jeff Kitchen was shown his second yellow card after 92 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Jeff Kitchen kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Lee Pascoe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Superbad's supporters rose to their feet, but Lee Pascoe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joshua Potterton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Heswall City's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
