With a little luck, Hendon United FC's Matt Goldthorpe got control of the ball when Micheal Graves tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by William Bramhall during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Hendon United FC booed when Shadows FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. William Bramhall didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jay Staple received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Ronan Kinsey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute Matthew Mortimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matt Goldthorpe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Micheal Graves got free with Matt Goldthorpe in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Shadows FC defense, Trey Elwick kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ronan Kinsey. The Shadows FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ronan Kinsey should have stopped the shot. Hendon United FC's Trey Elwick got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th minute Jay Staple shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronan Kinsey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th minute, one of Shadows FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Shadows FC. The referee gave Hendon United FC a penalty, 31 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Warren Kirkpatrick, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Shadows FC's Ronan Kinsey. 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trey Elwick in the 40th minute of play forced Shadows FC's goalkeeper Ronan Kinsey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trey Elwick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronan Kinsey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jay Staple, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Shadows FC's Ronan Kinsey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jay Staple in the 47th minute of play. The Shadows FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Hendon United FC were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Matthew Mortimer to make the kick off. Shadows FC's Matthew Mortimer got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jay Staple struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Ronan Kinsey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hendon United FC. After 58 played minutes Hendon United FC got a freekick which was hit by Louis Armitage. Ronan Kinsey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trey Elwick in the 62nd minute of the match. With his leg Ronan Kinsey managed to avoid a goal in the 68thth minute, when Hendon United FC's Trey Elwick fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
