Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Phillip Brownlow started the match with the kick off. With a little luck, Ashford Fc's Joey Mabbutt got control of the ball when Travis Winterbottom tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ashford Fc's Joey Mabbutt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Ashford Fc from getting a goal against them. Stu Hough received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Denzil Claydon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joey Mabbutt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Travis Winterbottom in the 19th minute. Travis Winterbottom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joey Mabbutt having to interfere. Joey Mabbutt stood somewhat misplaced when Travis Winterbottom came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 25 minute. After a rather tough play, Liverpool's Travis Winterbottom got a free kick in the 28th minute. After 42 minutes of play, Ashford Fc's Bryan Warburton made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Denzil Claydon was left in no man's land by his defense there! With his leg Joey Mabbutt managed to avoid a goal in the 45thth minute, when Liverpool's Travis Winterbottom fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Phillip Brownlow in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joey Mabbutt saved Ashford Fc from getting behind. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Stu Hough made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Ashford Fc booed when Liverpool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vic Trotter didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute Phillip Brownlow shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joey Mabbutt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tyrone Leonard kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Travis Winterbottom in the 61st minute of play forced Ashford Fc's goalkeeper Joey Mabbutt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ashford Fc's Joey Mabbutt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phillip Brownlow in the 73rd minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Phillip Brownlow had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joey Mabbutt. Ashford Fc's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Phillip Brownlow was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Denzil Claydon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stu Hough, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Phillip Brownlow took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joey Mabbutt. Joey Mabbutt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phillip Brownlow in the 88th minute of play forced Ashford Fc's goalkeeper Joey Mabbutt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Ashford Fc's goal looked a bit too open when Vic Trotter came free, but Joey Mabbutt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
